Sketchabilities

It's Sketchabilites time! I REALLY love this sketch! I know I'm going to use it again and again! Make sure you go to Sketchabilitis blog and check out the sketch and see what the rest of the Design Team did with the sketch too, AMAZING!! My layout has a picture of my brother and sister playing in the snow in 1963, they were so cute back then.....

I used several different lines on this layout. The large snowflake is Bo Bunny, the papers are Basic Grey, and the little snowman is a really old one from Jolee's. I stamped and glittered the snowflakes for a little sparkle!

Let's Scrap Hoppy New Year Blog Hop!

Another Blog Hop?? Yep, that's right, the fun around here just never stops! This one is for LET'S SCRAP!
For those of you who are new to the site, Let's Scrap is a wonderful group of scrapbookers who encourage and  motivate each other in our love for scrapping!   New sketches are posted every Wednesday, with sample layouts done by the Design Team to provide inspiration. Members have one week to complete and post their interpretation of the sketch, and one random winner is then selected to win that week's prize provided by many different sponsors.
In addition to the weekly sketch, one of the DesignTeam members posts a challenge every Friday, and there are often special monthly challenges, with chances to win a prize for each challenge entered.  Our forum contains tutorials, a place to "toot your horn", hosts a 'Question of the Week' and much, much more.   We believe we have one of the friendliest communities of scrappers on the web, and are so glad that you have decided to check us out during our blog hop!
And now, a little bit about this blog hop:
The Let’s Scrap Hoppy New Year Blog Hop starts Friday, Jan.14, 2011 and runs until 11:59 pm central time on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. That’s right it runs for a whole month. Because it is the New Year we thought it would be fun to name the challenges Resolutions rather then Challenge #1,Challenge #2 etc.
There are 15 Design team, Contributing Design Team and Administrators from Let’s Scrap hosting the blog hop. They will each have a Resolution (challenge) for you to do and a prize that you can win. Also one of the members of the group who doesn’t have a blog is posting a couple of great challenges in the Let’s Scrap Forum and there will be in depth rules and other important information posted in the forum also so make sure to check it all out.
Not only do you have a chance to win a prize for each challenge you enter but if you complete and post an entry for EVERY challenge along the blog hop, by February14, 2011 you're name will be entered into a random drawing for a wonderful prize supplied by Cosmo Cricket
Please make sure you become a follower and leave a little love (a comment) for each blog on the hop.
So.......If you've just stopped by and want to start at the beginning start HERE at Betty Anne's blog. If you came here from TRACY'S blog you're in the right place! You made it all the way through, I hope you were inspired! You just have ONE more challenge! Here is my RESOLUTION (challenge):
One of my resolutions for this new year is to take notice of all the little things that happen every day that make me happy. So, my RESOLUTION for you is to create at layout or card using a Let's Scrap sketch, my favorite color combo (at the moment), TEAL, YELLOW, and GREY/SILVER and the word HAPPY! My example is done using sketch 4-28-10, no really it is. I swear I started with that sketch, my endings never resemble my beginnings!

YOU are my Happy Place

That's me and the hubs! I used a Hambly overlay on top of grey cardstock, a little Sassafras Lass, some October Afternoon and a touch of My Minds Eye! I have a cute little RAK with some Making Memories, My Mind's Eye, Maya Road, Prima and Jenni Bowlin goodies for one lucky person!
So, there you have it! Once you complete my challenge upload it in the gallery at Let's Scrap! Make sure you tag it Resolution#15, and the sketch #. For example, mine would be: Resolution#15,4-28-10 easy right?! Good luck and have fun! Happy Scrapping!!

First Layout for The Paper Variety

Im sooo excited! This is my first layout for The Paper Variety! Here is the first challenge of the new year!

Pretty easy this time of year huh?! Here is my example.

I took a picture of my puppies (Lucy and Snoopy) during our first (and so far, ONLY!) snow this year. I was so happy they posed so nicely for me! Our lovely sponsor this month is:
Play along with us and be entered to win this!:

Mini Album kit - BG Wander!
How awesome is that? Love Love Love Basic Grey!
Here is a close up of the title. Want to know how I created the "snow" on the Making Memories letters? Easy!
I mixed white glue (I used Martha's Glitter Glue) and white paint! Once it's good and mixed, use a paint brush and blob (technical term!) it where snow would normally "collect". Then before it dries shake some glitter on the glue/paint. It gives a great shimmery, dimensional effect.
Can't wait to see what you create with this challenge! Happy Scrapping!
