New at the Paper Variety

Doesn't this sound fun?! Who doesn't love polka-dots?!! My layout is of my sister and our Grandparents in 1964. I used a subtle dot background (sorry, I don't know which company it's from) with a diecut paper from Making Memories with purple dots around the outside and ofcourse no layout is complete without ribbon so I gathered up some polka-dot ribbon along the bottom of the pictures. The diecuts birds, flowers, borders and sticker title spot are all from K&Co.

One lucky person will win.........

So, please check out The Paper Variety blog to see the rest of the Design Teams layouts/cards/projects and play along with us!

Have you seen this new sketch site? Get Your Sketch On! They have a fantastic sketch every week and great prizes too! This week I decided to give it a try and I made the top 5! Pretty exciting! Be sure to hop over there and check it out!

1 Sketch 2 ways!

There is a sketch challenge at October Afternoon. Thought I would give it a whirl! I actually did two layouts from the same sketch, but only one has October Afternoon papers on it, the other uses Cosmo Cricket. Hope you have a blessed Easter!

Can You Dig It?

Here's a little something I did for the May Guest Designer tryouts  at Get Your Sketch On. It's a picture of me in 1972, apparently I was looking for a place to dig, to no avail! Jump over to Get Your Sketch On and give it a whirl!

Another great reveal from Twisted Sketches! Please go to the site to see the sketch and play along with us! I flipped the sketch around for this one. It's a picture of my mom and dad on their 10th wedding anniversary in 1964! The twist is "card" so I used the litttle love birds playing card from Fancy Pants.

Flowers!

Another great challenge from The Paper Variety!
This one is soooooo easy! I hope you all play along! There is a beautiful prize up for grabs from Citrus Tree Studios!

So, here is my layout with flowers. In my mind I had flowers all over this page, but the more stuff I put on the page, the more it took away from the picture. I wanted the picture of my Grandma to stand out, so I took everything off and just left the one large flower.

I never met my dad's mom, but everyone says she was a lovely woman, she must have been to have raised my dad, he was an exceptional man! Thanks for stopping by today, please go to The Paper Variety and play along with us!

2 layouts

I have to quick layouts for you today! The first one I did for a challenge over at Back Porch Memories (you may remember I was GDT last month!) I used a sketch from Page Maps and Crate Paper to pay homage to my daddy in the 1950's!
The next one is my sister modeling her new bikini in 1962, isn't she adorable?! This one is for a challenge at Sketchy Thursdays and I used Sass a Fras Lass.

This is a very sad post for me....this is my last reveal for SKETCHABILITIES. Karan has some of the best sketches out there, so I will definately still be using them whenever possible! I had such a great time being on the Design Team, so many talented ladies there! Please stop by the blog and visit everyones blog and then play along with the sketch! I used the kit from Little Red Scrapbook for this layout of my brother, sister and some of our cousins circa 1964
